Siemens and Salesforce deepened their partnership at Dreamforce this week, connecting Siemens’ Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management with Agentforce so engineering-grade answers reach sales and service reps directly instead of staying locked in an engineering system. Before the rollout, Siemens says it received more than 2,500 unqualified leads every month with no reliable way to prioritize which ones its 18,000 sellers should chase. Two coordinated Agentforce agents, one for engagement and one for qualification, now engage every inbound lead across 132 countries, personalizing outreach and routing only the vetted opportunities to a human seller.
“For decades, the expert knowledge of the engineer has been separate from the person servicing the machine in the field. We are closing an important gap,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG. Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, framed it as a template for heavy industry broadly: “Siemens and Salesforce are showing what it means to become an agentic enterprise at industrial scale.” The integration also lets field technicians confirm the correct spare part before a site visit and lets sales reps quote only upgrades that are technically valid for a given machine, which Siemens says matters because aftermarket revenue grows roughly six times faster than new equipment sales, at close to four times the margin.
The original insight here is what this does to lead qualification as a sales-operations function rather than a sales-rep task: moving from 2,500 unsorted monthly leads to 100 percent engagement across 132 countries is not primarily a productivity story, it is Siemens outsourcing its entire top-of-funnel triage decision to an agent pair it did not build in-house. Revenue leaders in complex, engineering-heavy sales motions should read this as the current playbook: pair a qualification agent with a domain knowledge base before adding headcount to chase lead volume, a pattern also visible in how other vendors are extending agent autonomy over weeks-long sales cycles while keeping trust and oversight the open question trade press keeps returning to.
