Salesforce and AWS expanded their partnership on September 15 to let CRM data move without the migration step that normally precedes it. Salesforce’s Data 360 zero-copy capability now reaches AWS Glue Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora, RDS and SageMaker Lakehouse directly, meaning a RevOps team’s pipeline and account data can be queried by AWS-side analytics and AI tools without first being extracted, transformed and reloaded into a separate warehouse. Salesforce products also became available across AWS Marketplace in 33 countries.
The unglamorous detail matters more than the announcement’s size suggests. Every RevOps team that has tried to build a forecasting model or a churn score on top of CRM data knows the actual bottleneck was rarely the model. It was getting a clean, current copy of Salesforce data into the warehouse the data science team could actually query, a job that eats weeks of engineering time and goes stale the moment a field changes. Removing that step does not require a new AI feature to be adopted. It just makes the data revenue teams already generate usable by whatever tool sits on the AWS side, including the model choice Salesforce now offers through Amazon Bedrock alongside its own Koa reasoning model.
Nick Johnston, EVP of Global Partnerships at Salesforce, framed the goal as reach rather than a specific feature: “Salesforce’s business context creates value everywhere our customers work.” Russell Jukes, Chief Digital and Information Officer at DXC Technology, described the practical effect inside a live deployment: “Amazon Quick’s agentic capabilities have become integral to how our teams operate, without leaving the tools they work in daily.” For a RevOps leader evaluating the announcement, the question is not whether to adopt a new agent. It is whether the data pipeline feeding every other AI investment just got one migration project shorter, the same infrastructure question already shaping how Salesforce customers route AI-qualified leads today.
