Pipedrive made Nova, its AI meeting-intelligence tool, generally available across all subscription tiers this month at no additional cost. Nova joins a sales call, transcribes it across Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, and then generates a pre-call brief pulled from CRM deal history and prior emails, a post-call summary with next steps, and suggested CRM field updates (deal stage, value, close date) that a rep reviews and approves rather than a fully automated write.

The launch leans on Pipedrive’s own research to make the case: 42 percent of sales professionals say they spend at least 40 percent of the workday on non-revenue-generating tasks, 71 percent spend at least ten minutes preparing for each customer call, and 47 percent report that follow-ups and CRM updates frequently take more than 24 hours to complete. Snug, a six-person sales team already using Nova, says it saves 30 minutes to an hour per deal meeting on note-taking and follow-up alone, according to founder and CEO Justin Butterworth.

Why it matters: bundling Nova into every plan, rather than gating it behind a premium tier, is a bet that meeting intelligence stops being a differentiated add-on and becomes table-stakes CRM functionality, the way call recording and email sync did before it. That pressures standalone conversation-intelligence vendors to prove their depth is worth a separate line item once the CRM ships a free version. “What actually helps a rep isn’t more automation,” said Joe Futty, Pipedrive’s Chief Product and Technology Officer. “It’s more confidence. Nova gets everything else out of their way so reps can spend that energy doing the one thing they’re actually paid to do: sell.” The open question is whether Nova’s suggested CRM updates hold up once thousands of free-tier teams rely on them instead of a human checking the deal stage by hand, a version of the same control question this publication raised about who actually owns the CRM AI layer.
