ConversionIQ.ai has named Tarell Harrison its global head of sales, and his resume says more about where AI sales-agent vendors are headed than the appointment itself does. Harrison spent his career at Nuance, PolyAI, and Omilia, three companies that built their businesses selling conversational and voice AI into large enterprises long before “AI agent” became a category on its own. ConversionIQ.ai, whose platform deploys AI agents to engage prospects across web chat, SMS, WhatsApp, and social media in more than 91 languages, is betting that pedigree matters more right now than a background in conventional SaaS sales.

“Tarell has spent his career helping enterprises adopt AI at the moment it mattered most,” said Jason Tremblay, ConversionIQ.ai’s co-founder and CEO, in the company’s announcement. At PolyAI, Harrison closed several of the company’s largest and earliest multi-year enterprise agreements, working across financial services, travel, hospitality, retail, utilities, and telecommunications, sectors where AI deployments typically face the heaviest compliance and risk scrutiny before a contract gets signed.

That is the part worth watching. Enterprise buyers evaluating an AI sales agent are not asking the questions a traditional SaaS buyer asks about seat counts and integrations. They are asking what a voice-AI or contact-center buyer asks: how it handles a regulated industry’s compliance requirements, and who is accountable when the AI gets something wrong in front of a customer. Hiring a sales leader whose career was built answering exactly those questions suggests ConversionIQ.ai expects to be sold into the same buying committees that once vetted call-center AI, not the ones that buy point sales tools.

“I joined ConversionIQ.ai because we solve a problem no other vendor has truly addressed: intelligent engagement where customers actually interact today,” Harrison said. His mandate covers global sales strategy, expanding strategic partnerships, and helping enterprise customers roll out the platform’s multi-channel engagement agents, work that tracks a broader move by AI sales-agent vendors into the messaging channels where buyers already spend their time.
