CaptivateIQ, a sales performance management platform, announced on October 21 that its Rev Planning Agent and Comp Builder Agent are generally available to all customers.

What happened

According to CaptivateIQ’s release, both agents were first shown in May as part of the CaptivateIQ Agents portfolio. The Rev Planning Agent works inside a customer’s live sales planning model. It answers plain-language questions about quotas and scenarios and traces each answer through the inputs behind it. It also designs and rebalances territories and simulates scenarios against live data to flag revenue target gaps, capacity risk, unbalanced territories and unassigned accounts. The Comp Builder Agent helps compensation administrators understand, debug, create and update plan logic, including plans they did not build. It traces payouts to their source, finds the root cause of calculation issues, and writes and applies fixes once approved.

Why it matters

CaptivateIQ says many organizations now adjust plans at least quarterly, yet 39% report that changes still take one to two months, citing its 2026 State of Incentive Compensation Management Report. The company says admins must preview changes before they are applied and that calculations run through the CaptivateIQ platform rather than being generated by the language model. Conway Teng, co-founder and CEO of CaptivateIQ, said that “anything involving revenue and paychecks needs to be exact.” In beta, an enterprise software company reported updating compensation plans 80% faster, a customer figure from the release that we could not check independently.

We covered the move from spreadsheets into live systems in an earlier piece and who owns the context behind an agent in this argument for RevOps.

One original insight

The two controls CaptivateIQ highlights, an admin preview and platform-run math, are the ones a trial should test first. The release does not say how long the preview history is kept or whether it records which admin approved a change. In our reading, a RevOps lead evaluating the agents should ask for both before a plan change reaches a quarter-end payout.
