Gong announced on October 16 that it is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration for the second year in a row.

What happened

According to Gong’s release, Gartner evaluated 13 vendors and named four as Leaders. Gong says it was positioned highest on Ability to Execute and furthest on Completeness of Vision. The report is dated October 13, 2026, with Steve Rietberg, Dan Gottlieb and Alyssa Cruz as authors. The release does not name the other three Leaders.

Gong quotes the report’s definition of the category: “RAO serves as the primary system of seller action and a single source of truth for sales interactions.” The company also cites customer results it says were shared at its Celebrate ’26 conference: Cisco’s early-adopting teams at roughly 26% higher win rates and 32% larger deal sizes, AT&T Business at 54% better rep productivity, and Experian at 25% higher win rates. Gong says it has more than 5,000 customers. Gartner’s own disclaimer states that its publications are opinions and not statements of fact.

Why it matters

The quoted definition is the part to read twice. It describes a category whose job is to hold the seller’s actions and the record of sales interactions in one place, which overlaps with what a CRM platform claims for itself. We covered the CRM side of that overlap in Gartner’s CRM rankings and agentic AI depth.

What to watch

In our reading, a buyer’s practical question is where the system of seller action sits in a stack that already has a CRM. Gong’s recent move to add third-party contact data to its Revenue Graph points at how a vendor in this category widens the record it holds. A sales leader comparing RAO platforms can ask each one which system wins when its record and the CRM’s record disagree, and who owns the fix.
