Distribution sales teams are getting customer risk scores and pricing guardrails built directly into the order screen, not bolted on through a separate reporting tool. That is the pattern behind Cavallo’s latest expansion of SalesPad for Business Central, which folds pricing automation, document routing, and AI driven customer intelligence into the transaction workflow itself.
What happened
Cavallo added three capabilities to SalesPad for Business Central: Advanced Pricing, which applies configurable business rules, customer agreements, and margin thresholds directly into order workflows with automatic margin protection; Smart Printing, which automates document routing by distributing pick instructions, packing documents, compliance paperwork, and customer specific inserts; and Customer IQ, which monitors customer activity to predict turnover risk, measure profitability, and flag behavioral changes. Cavallo CEO Mike Biwer said the updates represent “another step in our vision of building a modern distribution workflow platform,” since “distribution is full of operational decisions that have traditionally depended on institutional knowledge or manual effort.”
Why it matters for the sales leader
Distributors on Business Central have long needed a second system, a CRM, a BI dashboard, or a spreadsheet, to know which accounts are slipping or which orders are eroding margin. Putting turnover risk and profitability signals directly into the order entry screen means a rep sees the risk at the moment they act on the account, not after a monthly report surfaces it. Inline pricing automation with margin thresholds also closes a common failure point: reps overriding price books under deal pressure with no system level guardrail.
The original insight
This mirrors a broader shift across revenue platforms, where vendors move customer intelligence out of a standalone analytics layer and into the workflow where the transaction happens. Revenue platforms have already been shifting from reporting insights to automatically executing on them, and Cavallo’s move shows that logic reaching distribution ERPs: the tool that used to flag a problem increasingly also acts on it.
