HubSpot announced at its Spring 2026 Spotlight event on April 15 two significant AI-powered sales features: a Prospecting Agent that handles the full prospecting lifecycle and Smart Deal Progression that automates post-call CRM workflows.
The Prospecting Agent monitors accounts for buying signals including funding rounds, job postings, and technology adoption. It sources complete buying committees through connected data providers (including ZoomInfo and Apollo), then drafts personalized outreach for representative review. Early users report response rates at twice the industry benchmark. HubSpot prices the agent at $1 per recommended lead after a 28-day free trial.
Smart Deal Progression acts after every sales call, analyzing the transcript alongside the full deal history to suggest CRM updates, draft follow-up emails, and surface action items. The feature incorporates pipeline definitions, deal stages, and forecasting logic specific to each team’s execution patterns.
CPTO Duncan Lennox framed the releases around what HubSpot calls “Growth Context”: “If data is what happened, context is why. It is deep knowledge of your customers, your market, and how your team works.” The company also launched HubSpot AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), which tracks brand visibility in AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, priced at $50 per month.
The updates position HubSpot’s CRM as part of the broader agentic AI shift reshaping enterprise sales platforms in 2026.
