Salesforce has retired the Sales Cloud brand in its Spring 2026 release, renaming the product Agentforce Sales to reflect the platform’s shift from a seller-operated CRM to an agent-assisted selling environment. The change landed in February 2026 and extends across every product line: Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Commerce Cloud all received the Agentforce prefix.
The rebrand is more than cosmetic. Agentforce Sales introduces autonomous AI agents for inbound lead generation, lead nurturing, and qualification. The Inbound Lead Generation agent captures leads from web and messaging channels, answers prospect questions, and schedules meetings without human intervention. When a prospect does not convert, the system hands the lead to the Lead Nurturing agent for automated follow-up sequences.
The Qualification agent evaluates how closely a prospect fits the company’s Ideal Customer Profile by analyzing conversation data, then assigns a rating and creates tasks for sellers to follow up on high-priority leads. Pipeline Management and Account Management agents are now accessible through Slack, bringing AI guidance into the collaboration layer where sellers spend significant time.
A new Sales Workspace serves as the unified hub where reps monitor performance metrics, agent activities, and next-best actions in a single surface. Salesforce confirmed that existing contracts, licenses, and pricing carry over automatically with no changes required from customers.
The naming decision signals that Salesforce views autonomous agents as the primary value delivery mechanism, not the underlying CRM database. Revenue teams evaluating their Salesforce investment should expect that future innovation will prioritize agent capabilities over traditional workflow enhancements.
