Docusign said on October 26 that SAP will sell two Docusign-built agreement tools as SAP Solution Extensions, one for SAP Sales Cloud and one for SAP SuccessFactors, so sales teams can create, sign and track contracts without leaving SAP.

What happened

The products carry SAP names: SAP Signature and Agreement Management by Docusign for SAP Sales Cloud, and the same for SAP SuccessFactors. According to the Docusign announcement, they are SAP-branded, sold and supported, and they passed SAP’s premium qualification process for Solution Extensions. On the sales side, reps trigger contract workflows from SAP Sales Cloud, and signed agreement data, including completed and expiring agreements and key commercial terms, syncs back into SAP. Docusign says the tools will also integrate with Joule Work. Sebastian Steinhaeuser, COO and Executive Board member at SAP SE, said a signed deal’s data “flows directly back into SAP solutions, where it can shape the next forecast, renewal, or onboarding step.”

Why it matters

For an SAP Sales Cloud customer, contract software usually means a second vendor, a second procurement cycle and an integration project. Under the Solution Extension model, SAP sells and supports the Docusign tool, so the buyer adds it through its existing SAP relationship. The move follows one we covered in September, when Docusign opened contracts to AI agents. SAP customers have also been moving quoting into SAP itself, as Ericsson did with contract quoting.

One original insight

In our reading, RevOps teams gain most from the data that syncs back. With expiring agreements and commercial terms next to the opportunity record, a renewal list no longer depends on someone exporting it from a separate contract tool. Teams evaluating the extension should ask which contract fields sync to which SAP Sales Cloud objects, and how often.
