Venue and event sales teams are getting the same pitch enterprise CRM buyers have heard all year: stop making a rep do the admin work by hand. On September 15, Momentus Technologies launched MomentusMAX, a new platform for its AI products, with MAX for Sales as the first release inside it. The tool captures and scores inbound leads, resolves calendar conflicts by recommending the highest-revenue hold instead of the first available slot, and generates full proposals with upsells and margin projections built in.

The case for building it is specific to how bad the underlying workflow already is. Momentus cites venue sales teams spending up to 70 percent of a week on administrative tasks, first-response rates deciding roughly half of all RFPs before a real conversation happens, and close to half of available venue days going unbooked industry-wide simply because no one matched supply to demand in time. Alex Griffis, Chief Product Officer at Momentus Technologies, put the reasoning behind building a purpose-built tool rather than adopting a generic AI assistant plainly: “Generic AI doesn’t know your venue, your spaces, or your clients. That gap is exactly why it hasn’t delivered real value in day-to-day sales work for events.”

The original insight here is not that another vertical has an AI CRM now. It is what MomentusMAX’s specific feature set reveals about where AI-native CRM vendors are choosing to compete. Rather than build a general-purpose lead-scoring model and hope it generalizes, Momentus scoped its automation to the exact decisions a venue sales rep makes every day: which lead is worth calling first, which date to hold for which prospect, and what margin a given proposal actually protects. That mirrors Betterbot’s bet that a voice-AI CRM built for property leasing beats a horizontal tool retrofitted for the vertical, and the same logic Veeva used when Amgen chose vertical data-model depth over a horizontal CRM’s broader agent count. Across biotech, property leasing, and event venues, the vendors winning share right now gave up horizontal reach for domain-specific data, betting that depth beats scale when the decision is narrow enough.
