SAP said in its AI Release Highlights for Q3 2026, published on October 26, that a Deal Qualification Assistant for sales teams is moving to general availability in a phased rollout, with a Lead Routing Agent among the agents behind it.

What happened

According to the SAP News Center post, the assistant deduplicates lead data, assesses fit and intent, and automates routing and engagement. Four agents released in the quarter handle the steps. The Lead Enrichment Agent adds external data to incoming lead records. The Lead Qualification Agent sorts prospects into qualified, nurtured or disqualified based on ideal customer criteria. After an account executive confirms qualification, the Lead Conversion Agent creates the account, contact and opportunity records and keeps the lead details and engagement history. A Deal Qualification Orchestration Agent coordinates the others. SAP lists estimated benefits of a 35% reduction in manual deal-qualification effort and a 10% increase in the lead-to-meeting ratio, and states that general availability is now underway in a phased approach.

Why it matters

Lead routing, enrichment and record creation are the steps where revenue operations teams usually carry the most manual cleanup. SAP is packaging them as one assistant inside its Joule layer, which we reported was rolling out to all customers in October. On the same quote-to-contract side of the sales desk, Docusign agreement tools are also coming to SAP Sales Cloud.

One original insight

In our reading, the sentence to test in a pilot is the human step. SAP has the Lead Conversion Agent act only after an account executive confirms qualification, so the record creation is gated by a person while the sorting into qualified, nurtured and disqualified is not. A RevOps lead evaluating it should ask for the rate at which account executives overturn the agent’s sorting, because that number shows whether the 10% lead-to-meeting estimate holds up in a real queue.
