Impartner launched what it calls the first configure-price-quote (CPQ) tool built specifically for channel partners, adding quote management directly inside its partner relationship management (PRM) platform. Partners can now access a vendor-controlled product catalog based on their tier and segment, apply preset pricing rules, build and compare quote versions, and submit a proposal for approval without routing every step through a vendor representative.
“Quoting should not be the point where a partner opportunity slows down,” said Robert Harris, Impartner’s VP of Product Management. “In a direct sales model, sellers have the tools and authority to move an opportunity from one stage to the next. Vendor companies have historically had to bridge the partner quoting gap through manual processes and internal team intervention. We’re changing that dynamic by giving partners a direct path to act while preserving the controls vendors need to run their business.”
Why it matters: most CPQ tools were engineered around a direct sales rep working a single deal inside one CRM, not an external partner working across their own systems and a vendor’s rules simultaneously. Impartner’s CPQ instead runs on the partner segmentation, tiering, and deal registration data PRM platforms already track, which is the same shift toward CPQ vendors building for how deals actually move today rather than for a fixed workflow, and it lands alongside a broader push to open channel data to systems built around partners, not reps.
The original insight: channel-led revenue has grown faster than the tooling built to support it, and quoting has been the specific point where that gap shows up as lost time, not lost deals. A partner who can price and version a quote without waiting on a vendor rep converts faster on deals that were always going to close, which is a smaller win than net-new pipeline but a more reliable one, and it is the kind of incremental process fix that channel-heavy revenue leaders should start expecting from every layer of their partner stack, not just quoting.
